Turkey’s national team coach, Vincenzo Montella, has provided a crucial update on the fitness of Real Madrid’s rising talent, Arda Güler.
The 19-year-old midfielder suffered an injury during Turkey’s Nations League match against Wales on Friday, leaving the field in visible pain after clutching his calf. Güler’s premature exit sparked concern in Madrid, where the team has already been dealing with a series of injury setbacks.
Fortunately, early reports have since alleviated fears of a long-term problem. Montella offered more insight into the situation, stating, "Arda took a knock toward the end of the match. Yesterday, he was having difficulty walking. While he might not train today, we'll assess whether he can feature as a starter or substitute."
